This course has been prepared for therapists, psychologists, coaches and others wishing to teach mindfulness to their clients, as part of their professional practice. All of our tutors are professional therapists with extensive experience in supporting clients in developing mindfulness.

Course Content

Module 1: What is Mindfulness? – key principles; core skills; psychology of mindfulness; emotional awareness and self understanding; defining mindfulness in the moment; the here and now; history and theory of mindfulness.Assignment 1.

Module 2: Introducing Mindfulness to Clients – teaching mindfulness; core client skills; mindfulness and client challenges; mindfulness and stress management; automatic negative thoughts. Assignment 2.

Module 3: Mindfulness and Emotions – awareness and meditation; practical activities for clients; journaling for clients; teaching physical mindfulness; relaxation exercises; breathing activities for clients. Assignment 3.

Module 4: Teaching Mindfulness in Everyday Life – life assessment for clients - workplace, family, relationships; teaching conflict management; relationships and mindfulness; everyday tasks and mindfulness; introducing mindfulness in the workplace. Assignment 4.

Module 5: Advanced Mindfulness – intuition and mindfulness; words and intention; mindfulness and motion; sound and music; creative writing and poetry, art therapy; other creative approaches. Assignment 5.

Module 6: Key Issues – mindfulness and key client issues: health and wellness; managing anger; teaching clients to manage their mood - depression and anxiety; ADHD; tracking progress and maintaining change; practitioner self-development. Assignment 6.

Module 7: Working with Young Clients – mindfulness in education: theory and practice; working with young people; teaching mindfulness in school and college. Assignment 7.

Module 8: Teaching Mindfulness at a Distance – supporting clients at a distance; working with online clients; developing an online mindfulness program; working with client groups; monitoring client progress. Assignment 8.

The cost is £70 including courier fees.You will be offered the option to purchase a printed copy of the course notes after enrolment, but you can order them at any time during your course.
